I don’t like the future sewn up. I like an open book - the feeling that anything can happen.

ARE YOU A GYM JUNKIE?I abhor the gym. I personally don’t understand running on a machine, with a telly in front of you, surrounded by other people doing exactly the same thing. I do love yoga and swimming, and I walk everywhere. A five-year-old daughter and four-year-old son, a full-time job and a busy social life with my husband Damian (Lewis, the actor) keep me fit!DO YOU EAT HEALTHILY?I don’t eat any processed or ready-made foods — everything is from scratch — and I’ve never been to McDonald’s. I only buy organic, and fish has to be ethically caught. I’m really good at getting my five fruit and veg a day because I genuinely like it. BIGGEST VICE?My guilty treat would be an entire Camembert or bottle of red wine.EVER DIETED?Never. I’m a size 6 and only 5ft 3in tall. I’ve put on a little weight since having kids and got a wee tummy now, but such is life after childbirth, I think. WOULD YOU HAVE PLASTIC SURGERY?No. As I’ve got older, I feel more confident in my body, so wouldn’t want to tamper with it. Recently I was looking at myself in a scene of a film and thought: ‘My God — I’m the only one without Botox in that shot!’ You need to be able to face getting older.EVER BEEN DEPRESSED?No, I’m a very positive person. My grandmother taught me that happiness is both a skill and a decision, and you are responsible for the outcome. CLOSEST YOU’VE  COME TO DEATH?Seventeen years ago, I was in a serious car crash. I was in the back seat and the car was struck on the side at 50mph. I broke my clavicle (collar bone) in three places, had whiplash and was really battered. The last thing I remember is being on a stretcher and overhearing the paramedic saying: ‘Possible paralysis.’  Luckily, it wasn’t as catastrophic as they first thought, but I was still signed off for six weeks. I went back to work after two, with a neck brace and arm support.SO YOU COPE WELL WITH PAIN?Yes, very well. I believe a lot of it is mind over matter. A similar thing happened after I had a breech birth with my daughter Manon in 2006. They were worried about the placenta rupturing and I had a Caesarean. You’re supposed to rest up afterwards, but I was up and about in no time. I’m very lucky in that I recover easily.SLEEP WELL?I can sleep anywhere! I can come off stage during the interval of a play, lie down for four minutes then wake up feeling better.ANY PHOBIAS?Bad lighting!

ARE YOU A GYM JUNKIE?
I abhor the gym. I personally don’t understand running on a machine, with a telly in front of you, surrounded by other people doing exactly the same thing. I do love yoga and swimming, and I walk everywhere. A five-year-old daughter and four-year-old son, a full-time job and a busy social life with my husband Damian (Lewis, the actor) keep me fit!
DO YOU EAT HEALTHILY?
I don’t eat any processed or ready-made foods — everything is from scratch — and I’ve never been to McDonald’s. I only buy organic, and fish has to be ethically caught. I’m really good at getting my five fruit and veg a day because I genuinely like it.
BIGGEST VICE?
My guilty treat would be an entire Camembert or bottle of red wine.
EVER DIETED?
Never. I’m a size 6 and only 5ft 3in tall. I’ve put on a little weight since having kids and got a wee tummy now, but such is life after childbirth, I think.

EVER BEEN DEPRESSED?
No, I’m a very positive person. My grandmother taught me that happiness is both a skill and a decision, and you are responsible for the outcome.
CLOSEST YOU’VE  COME TO DEATH?

ANY PHOBIAS?
Bad lighting!

Out of curiosity:

Who do you think my spirit animals are? (aka what characters/people do I remind you of?)
